Discharge Support Feedback

Letter of thanks from Chief Executive Officer, Royal Papworth Hospital: I wanted to take the time to thank you and your team for the work that your charity did to facilitate a complex discharge of a patient who needed home oxygen from Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. xxx was transferred to us in November 2024, and following treatment found that she had no means to return home as the supplier of the home oxygen that she needed had refused to supply it before her accomodation was de-cluttered. As a single person with no next of kin to call on for help she became stranded at Royal Papworth with no means to resolve her accomodation issues. In January 2025, having exhausted all other resolution routes, we came upon your charity and requetsed your help. Your team quickly swung into action, de-cluttering the property and allowing the patient to go home. Thank you all so much.

Client: I was recently diagnosed with health problems and I have had to make some drastic lifestyle changes. Mirka is better than prescribed tablets as she’s connected me to projects that can support me.

Client: Mirka is one in a million! She has been a great support to me in my new role, her advice has been invaluable. Mirka is full of positive energy and relentless in her approach to help others. She is a real inspiration and everyone holds her in such high regards. Mirka is a real asset to the community and I am really excited for future collaborations.

Client: Mirka has been amazing. Both personally (helping me find something to reduce my inactivity taking into account my physical limitations) and on a work front, helping me find practitioners for a staff away day. Mirka is a bundle of joy and you cant help feeling enthused being around her. Thanks for your help.

Sweat Harlow: Thank you so much Mirka for all of your support, knowledge, referrals and participation in a number of classes! You are always putting me in touch with new clients, projects and services. You are always willing to help advertise my classes not just in Harlow but a little further afield when I have also begun working on new projects. Nothing is ever too much trouble and you always know where to signpost me if I am unsure. We first met through Voluntary Action Epping Forest and you have attended various classes of mine in different community settings. It is an honour to work with you.

Pesh Kapasiawala: Mirka has been a great support to our charity 3Food4U, I cant recommend her highly enough. She’s attended and participated in our sessions and given very helpful feedback including signposting us for funding we weren’t aware of. It has enabled us to develop our activities including a chair yoga class which has proved to be very popular.

Brad – RescueFit Director: Our organisation was very pleased to hear from Mirka and Active Essex recently and have forged a friendship to last. Mirka visited us in Harlow and participated in a session to experience what we offier to the public. She was very enthusiastic and extremely helpful in suggesting ideas for the business over the next year. Thanks to Mirka we have begun reaching out to other organisations and began working on a plan to reach more residents in Essex to help them.

Client – I have followed the page for around a year, I find it so useful for information sharing and a real one stop shop for finding inclusive places and events that I can go myself or with my children. The events are affordable, inclusive and accessible to almost everyone. I find the most interesting and diverse activities for my kids and I to try. I want to thank you for collating so much information and sharing with your followers, I really appreciate it.

Client – I often wonder about unsung heroes like Mirka, she has been helping me and my beloved non verbal son for the last year, her genuine enthusiasm to help people is frankly infectious. I can honestly say if it had not been for Mirka, I probably wouldnt have attended half of the different sessions to help with well being.

Client – Thank you for coming along to my walking group – your enthusiasm is infectious. You support, encourage, inspire and offer guidance enabling me to grow my group in ways I didnt think I could do.

Client– Thank you for helping us with our free walking football session in Epping. You helped us get some much needed funding and took the time to come over, play in a session, meet the players and gave great advice about promoting the session to attract more players.
