Our United in Kind Coach for Harlow, Sarah Ayling has been working with Roots to Wellbeing who support residents with their Mental, Emotional and Physical health.
To date they have supported well over 700 children and adults locally with activities, events and opportunities to support Health and Wellbeing
“I recently made contact with Tara from Roots to Wellbeing and during this conversation Tara mentioned that during this lock down she had been supporting another community project which has been running sessions for children within the local area.
Tara told me that they are currently running some sessions for children with the focus being on sports and team building. They offer a range of wellbeing sessions using a range of methods and creative material to include art, crafts, healthy cooking, use of sound, mindfulness, yoga, movement and meditation, supporting the children and young people with emotional resilience, self-esteem and confidence.
Tara mentioned that they needed storage drawers so that equipment could be cleaned and storage safely in line with government guidelines making the sessions Covid Safe. I asked Tara for a list of equipment they may need and set to work finding local businesses which may be able to donate the items needed.
I contacted Asda in the Watergardens Harlow and Argos in Harlow to see if they were able to donate storage units. Both companies agreed to donate the storage units that were so desperately needed to operate safely. These will make a huge difference to the running of the sessions and mean that many local children will benefit.”
Thanks Asda and Argos for your continued support of our local community!
