Essex community’s amazing response to Afghanistan crisis

With the Taliban taking control of Afghanistan, Essex received a large influx of refugees who had fled to safety of UK with very little.

A call had been put out from Essex County Council and was supported by CVSU and United in Kind who made contact with their local communities and contacts.

The resulting response was overwhelming, with the Community Hub being inundated with clothes, toiletries, children’s toys etc. The Community Hub had to close it’s doors to further donations after a few days.

The surplus donations where then distributed to the local Charity Shops in the area.
