Visitors and volunteers at the Epping Civic Hub were busy, this week, making a sign to promote the Buckhurst Way Clinic Community Wellbeing Open Day, this Sunday, 11th June.

The event will see a range of free, drop-in activities, including: Community Gardening, Yoga, Boxercise, Health Checks, Massages, Arts & Crafts & Sound Relaxation.

It marks the start of the Clinic & other local GPs in Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Chigwell seeking to social prescribe more locally-run wellbeing activities, organised by voluntary partners.

GP Partner, Dr Lakhvinder Larh said:

“ We, at Loughton Buckhurst hill and Chigwell PCN, are very pleased to be working collaboratively with our Community services to provide holistic care for our locality. The Community wellbeing open day is a great opportunity to find out about the services that are available locally which can help to promote Health and well-being. There is something for everyone so we would really like to urge people to come and see for themselves”

Voluntary Action Epping Forest Handyman service is a partnership between them and Epping Forest District Council which launched in October 2012.

The service is funded by EFDC and provides a handyman service to tenants of EFDC properties provided they are over 60 and or disabled and have no one else who can assist them.

Our Handyman, Chris, was recently presented with a lovely gesture from an appreciative client who he had supported by raising furniture required to assist accessibility.

Small acts of kindness create a positive impact that can touch the lives of many.
