Harlow’s United in Kind Coach Sarah has been finding out about the benefits of yoga on our health and wellbeing

Yoga 4 health is a 10-week course which was set up and funded to support people in Harlow who suffer from mild stress, anxiety and depression, those who need to lose weight, need to improve their heart health or need to lower their risk of Type 2 diabetes.

The course has also helped support those who may be feeling isolated and lonely to connect and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

Sarah went along with Mirka the Find your Active Connector to speak with the group and provide information on different social and active groups within Harlow. Sarah enjoyed chatting to the attendees and gave out United in Kind flyers. It was nice to hear that people attending had made friends and were now planning to meet up and join local walking groups together. Such a great way to meet friends and try new things with the wonderful support a friend brings.

Going along to the yoga session reminded me that it is so important we take time to be kind to ourselves, especially as we all give to others, Family, Friends, work colleagues and many more every day. When we have been kind to ourselves, we are then able to give back and together we can make a difference!
